Please note: The ceramic strainer insert has a chip on its rim (see photos). The teapot body and lid are in good vintage condition. Priced accordingly.
A delightful vintage miniature teapot bearing a Made in Japan backstamp — a classic example of the beloved Japanese lusterware tradition that was widely exported to the United States and Europe in the early-to-mid 20th century. Standing approximately 4 inches tall, this petite teapot is a charming collectible and display piece.
The teapot features a lustrous periwinkle / lavender blue glaze on the domed lid, upper shoulder, spout, and handle — with a characteristic iridescent sheen that catches the light beautifully. The lower body is white with a hand-painted wild rose floral panel featuring pink and yellow blooms with green leaves. Inside, a built-in ceramic strainer insert with multiple holes sits at the base of the spout — a functional detail typical of quality Japanese teapots of the era.
