A magnificent signed piece of Mexican Talavera-style hand-painted pottery — a large ginger jar / lidded urn bearing the artist signature "T.M. Ruth" in marker on the unglazed terracotta base. Standing approximately 9 inches tall with the lid, this is a bold, colorful, and highly decorative statement piece.

The jar features an exuberant all-over hand-painted design in the classic Mexican Talavera tradition — a rich cobalt blue ground with sweeping brushwork panels of stylized tropical flowers, large leaves, and fruit in golden yellow, burnt orange, green, and white. The design is divided into alternating panels of dense cobalt blue scrollwork and white-ground floral bouquet reserves, creating a dynamic and vibrant composition. The domed lid features concentric blue and white stripe bands with a solid cobalt blue knob finial. The unglazed terracotta foot ring and base show the warm red-orange clay body typical of authentic Mexican hand-thrown pottery.
