A wonderful vintage ceramic tile trivet hand-decorated by Screencraft of West Yarmouth, Massachusetts on Cape Cod, featuring an illustrated scene titled "Early American Fire Equipment" — artistically rendered by Phyllis Howard. The design depicts a charming ink-and-watercolor style arrangement of historic firefighting artifacts, each labeled in script: a fire mark (1870), fire marshal's trumpet (1877), fire engine hand pump, leather fire bucket, metal fire helmet, and fireman's ax. Rich red, green, and gold accents pop against the bright white glaze. Cork backing with hanging grommet; cork stamped "A product of Portugal."
